Chairman of Bendel Insurance FC and Edo Queens, Hon. Jarrett Tenebe, on Saturday braved the heavy rain to personally watch the training session of the Nigerian Women Football League champions, Edo Queens, as the team intensifies preparations for the WAFU-B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifying tournament in Burkina Faso.
Edo Queens have entered a close camping programme as they step up preparations for the zonal competition, with the club management leaving no stone unturned to ensure the Nigerian champions are fully prepared for the challenge ahead.
Despite the unfavourable weather conditions, Tenebe was at the training ground to monitor the team’s preparations, demonstrating his commitment and support for the players and technical crew.
The Edo Queens squad went through their Saturday training session under the rain, with the players maintaining their focus and intensity as they prepare to represent Nigeria at the WAFU-B Women’s Champions League competition.
The Edo-based side, who emerged champions of the 2025/26 Nigeria Women Football League season, will be hoping to translate their domestic success into continental glory in Burkina Faso.
Tenebe’s presence at the training ground is expected to further boost the morale of the players as they continue their quest to conquer the WAFU-B zone and secure qualification for the CAF Women’s Champions League proper.
The club chairman expressed confidence in the team’s preparations and determination, with Edo Queens targeting nothing short of a strong performance and eventual victory at the zonal showpiece.
With the competition drawing closer, attention is now firmly on the players and technical crew as Edo Queens continue their intensive preparations to fly Nigeria’s flag proudly on the continental stage.
