Nigeria’s Special Eagles have been handed a challenging assignment at the 2026 World Amputee Football World Cup, with the African side drawn in Group B alongside Turkey, Spain and Egypt.

The official draw places Nigeria in a group featuring three teams from different football traditions, guaranteeing the Special Eagles a demanding battle for progression to the knockout stage.

NIGERIA vs TURKEY, SPAIN & EGYPT

Nigeria will face:

🇹🇷 Turkey

🇪🇸 Spain

🇳🇬 Nigeria

🇪🇬 Egypt

The presence of Spain and Turkey immediately gives the group an international dimension, while the encounter with Egypt will provide a strong African contest.

For Nigeria, the draw represents an opportunity to demonstrate the growth and competitiveness of amputee football in the country on the global stage.

OTHER GROUPS SHOW THE QUALITY OF THE TOURNAMENT

The strength of Nigeria's Group B can also be viewed against the other groups announced in the draw.

Group A features Mexico, Italy, Liberia and Algeria, while Group C brings together football heavyweights Brazil, Japan, Germany and Ukraine.

In Group D, Angola, Colombia, Ghana and Iraq will battle for progression.

Group E has Uzbekistan, Morocco, USA and Uruguay, while Group F consists of England, Poland, Iran and Costa Rica.

The composition of the groups shows that Nigeria will not have an easy route, but neither will any team have a straightforward path through the tournament.

SPECIAL EAGLES READY FOR THE CHALLENGE

With Turkey, Spain and Egypt standing between Nigeria and the next stage, the Special Eagles will need strong preparation, discipline and consistency throughout their group campaign.

The Nigerian side will also have the opportunity to measure itself against teams from Europe, Asia and Africa, making Group B an important test of Nigeria's progress in international amputee football.
