September 26 NFF Elective Congress May Not Be Feasible – Christopher Green

Two-time Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) board member, Barrister Christopher Green, says the proposed September 26, 2026 NFF Elective Congress may no longer be feasible.
Speaking exclusively to FAKSMEDIA on Wednesday from Port Harcourt, the immediate past Rivers State Commissioner for Sports said the busy football calendar could pose serious distractions to the electoral process.
"The WAFCON has started, and immediately after the tournament, the Super Eagles will begin their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. For me, there will be distractions," Green said.
He also noted that the NFF Electoral Committee is yet to commence the sale of nomination forms, adding that several other processes must be completed before the election can be conducted.
"The Electoral Committee has not started selling forms, and after the sale of forms, there are other important processes that must be concluded. For me, with the distractions of the WAFCON and the Super Eagles' AFCON qualifiers, the September 26 elective congress may not be possible," he concluded.
