PCN Secretary General Commends NSC Over Team Nigeria's Performance, Backs Para Athletes for More Commonwealth Medals

The Secretary General of the Paralympic Committee of Nigeria (PCN), Mr. Suleiman Isah, has praised the outstanding performance of Team Nigeria's para athletes at the ongoing 2026 Commonwealth Games, describing them as the nation's most consistent medal winners.

Speaking exclusively to Faksmedia, the Treasurer of the African Paralympic Committee said Nigeria's para athletes have continued to make the country proud by delivering medals at major international competitions.

"You know the record of our para athletes in Nigeria. They are the sportsmen and women who have consistently brought more medals to the country," Isah said.

He also applauded the leadership of the National Sports Commission (NSC), led by Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and Director General Hon. Bukola Olopade, for what he described as the best preparation ever given to Team Nigeria ahead of a major international competition.

"The leadership of the National Sports Commission did what no one has done before in terms of preparation. First was the camping in Nigeria, and secondly the training camp in Aberdeen. This is the best preparation Team Nigeria has ever had for a major competition. I must sincerely thank them," he added.

Looking ahead to the remaining athletics events, the former President of the Nigeria Amputee Football Federation expressed confidence that Team Nigeria would win more medals before the end of the Games.

"As the athletics events continue, I am confident Nigeria will rake in more medals and make the nation proud," Isah concluded.
