Former Board Member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Hon. Ayo Omidiran, has expressed strong confidence in the Super Falcons ahead of their crucial quarter-final clash against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon at the ongoing 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
Omidiran believes the nine-time African champions have what it takes to overcome Cameroon, secure qualification for the semi-finals and, in the process, book their place at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The former NFF board member’s optimism comes as Nigeria prepares for a high-stakes encounter against a Cameroonian side that will provide a stern test for the Super Falcons.
Nigeria enter the quarter-final with renewed confidence after an impressive 6–2 victory over Egypt in their final group-stage match, a result that secured their passage into the last eight.
With the World Cup qualification spot also at stake, Omidiran is backing the experience, quality and winning mentality of the Super Falcons to deliver when it matters most.
The match is expected to be another major test of Coach Justin Madugu’s side as Nigeria continues its quest to defend its continental crown and remain among Africa’s elite women’s football teams.
