Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade, has charged the Super Eagles of Nigeria to go all out for maximum points in their opening two matches of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign.
The Super Eagles will face Madagascar on Friday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, before travelling to Bissau to confront Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday, September 29, in their second qualifying fixture.
Speaking exclusively tofaksmedia.comahead of the double-header, Olopade urged the players to deliver the positive results expected of them and give Nigerians something to celebrate.
«“This is the first game after the AFCON. The lads should get the positive results expected from them to put smiles on the faces of Nigerians once again.»
«“I know that the players are patriotic and they know what is at stake.”»
Olopade's message comes as the Super Eagles begin another important journey towards continental qualification, with the team expected to make a strong start against Madagascar before turning their attention to the away fixture against Guinea-Bissau.
The NSC boss also expressed confidence in the commitment and patriotism of the players as Nigeria begins its campaign for a place at the 2027 AFCON.
With two crucial fixtures coming in quick succession, the Super Eagles will be looking to make a positive start and secure valuable points on the road to the tournament.
