The question surrounding Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali’s club career has once again come to the fore following Chippa United’s heavy 3–0 defeat to Orlando Pirates.

While one defeat should not be used to judge the quality of an individual goalkeeper, the result has raised a bigger question about Nwabali’s career trajectory.

Nwabali has established himself as a regular in the Super Eagles and has featured prominently for Nigeria on the international stage. His performances have attracted attention and, at various times, there have been reports of interest from clubs outside South Africa.
