Karate Federation President, Dimkpa Unveils Ambitious Blueprint to Rebuild Nigerian Karate

The newly elected President of the Karate Federation of Nigeria (KFN), Engr. Chukwudi Dimkpa, has unveiled an ambitious roadmap aimed at repositioning Nigerian karate for sustained growth, unity and international success.

In his inaugural message, Dimkpa outlined immediate priorities that include convening the first meeting of the new Board to set the Federation's strategic direction and reuniting the Nigerian karate family through constructive engagement with all stakeholders.

As part of his vision, the Federation will immediately commence preparations for Nigeria's participation in the forthcoming Japanese Ambassadors Cup, UFAK Championships and other international competitions, while establishing a sustainable athlete development pathway from grassroots to elite level.

The new President also pledged to strengthen the capacity of coaches, referees and technical officials through continuous education and certification programmes, ensuring that Nigeria remains competitive on the continental and global stage.

Dimkpa emphasized the importance of collaboration with the National Sports Commission (NSC), the Union of African Karate Federations (UFAK), the World Karate Federation (WKF), state associations and development partners to accelerate the sport's growth.

He further promised to promote transparency, accountability and sound corporate governance across all Federation activities while expanding sponsorship opportunities and strategic partnerships to improve funding, athlete welfare and infrastructure development.

According to him, the Federation's success will not be measured solely by medals but by the strength of its institutions, the quality of its programmes and the opportunities created for every Nigerian aspiring to excel in karate.

Calling for reconciliation within the karate community, Dimkpa extended a hand of fellowship to all members, urging them to put past differences aside and work together in an atmosphere of mutual respect, sportsmanship and shared purpose.

"Our athletes deserve a united Federation. Our coaches deserve an enabling environment. Our officials deserve the support to perform effectively. Above all, Nigeria deserves a Karate Federation that reflects the highest standards of integrity, professionalism and excellence," he stated.

He expressed confidence that with unity and collective commitment, the Federation would inspire confidence, nurture champions and proudly represent Nigeria across Africa and the world.

"The future of Nigerian karate begins today," the President declared.
