Edo Set to Host 10th NIPOST National Sports Festival as LOC Begins Preparations

Preparations have officially begun for the 10th edition of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) National Sports Festival, with Edo State confirmed as the host of the prestigious sporting event scheduled to hold from September 14 to 18, 2026, at the iconic Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) announced that the festival is expected to bring together more than 1,500 athletes, officials and invited guests representing 42 teams from across the country, making it one of the biggest editions of the championship.

As NIPOST's flagship sporting event, the festival is designed to strengthen unity among staff, encourage healthy living, promote teamwork and foster friendly competition within the Nigerian Postal Service.

The championship also provides an avenue for discovering sporting talents while reinforcing the spirit of camaraderie among participants from different regions of Nigeria.

Chairperson of the Local Organising Committee, Mrs. Edna Edughele, expressed optimism that Edo State would deliver a memorable and well-organised festival. She assured that the committee is working diligently with relevant stakeholders to ensure world-class facilities, seamless logistics and a successful competition.

The inaugural meeting of the Local Organising Committee marked the formal commencement of preparations for the games. Members of the committee later posed for a group photograph with Mrs. Edughele, symbolising their collective commitment to delivering an outstanding edition of the NIPOST National Sports Festival.

With Edo State renowned for successfully hosting major national and international sporting events, expectations are high that the 10th NIPOST National Sports Festival will provide exciting competition, strengthen bonds among postal workers and further promote the values of sportsmanship, discipline and national unity.
