Edo Queens Skipper Odiagbe: “It’s Not Yet Uhuru, Our Target Is to Lift the Trophy”

Edo Queens captain Deborah Odiagbe has warned her teammates that the job is not yet done, insisting that there are still 90 minutes of football to be played as the Nigerian champions continue their push for continental glory.

Odiagbe said the team remains fully focused on lifting the trophy, stressing that the players must maintain their concentration and determination until the final whistle.

“It is not yet Uhuru. We still have 90 minutes to play, and our target is to lift the trophy,” the skipper said.

The captain also revealed that Edo Queens are motivated by a sense of revenge ahead of their meeting with Ampem Darkoa Ladies of Ghana, a side that defeated them during the group stage of the competition.

According to Odiagbe, the earlier defeat has made the Edo Queens players even more determined to put things right when the two sides meet again.

The skipper also appealed to her three teammates who are challenging for the Golden Boot to put the team’s success ahead of their individual ambitions.

Odiagbe urged the trio to remain focused on securing victory for Edo Queens, stressing that winning the trophy as a team should take priority over personal accolades.

With the final now within reach, the Edo Queens captain believes the team has the character, hunger and determination to finish the job and bring continental glory home.
