Davido to Uzodimma: Don't Turn Osun Election Into a Battleground
Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known asDavido, has appealed to Imo State GovernorHope Uzodimmato ensure the upcoming Osun State governorship election is conducted peacefully and without violence.
Uzodimma, who is the chairman of theAll Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Councilfor the August 15 governorship election in Osun State, was urged by the singer to refrain from any actions that could heighten political tension.
Davido called on the Imo governor to support a free, fair and credible electoral process, stressing that the people of Osun should be allowed to exercise their democratic rights without intimidation or interference.
The singer's appeal comes amid heightened political activities ahead of the governorship election, with parties intensifying their campaigns across the state. Davido, whose uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, is seeking re-election, emphasized the need for peace and urged all political actors to put the interest of the people above partisan considerations.
