Chairman of Bayelsa United Football Club, Dr. Peter Singabele, has revealed that the club's final squad for the new season will be a combination of experienced players and talented youngsters currently being assessed during the ongoing pre-season screening exercise.
Speaking exclusively to FAKSMEDIA on the phone from Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, the experienced football administrator said he and members of the club's board are closely monitoring the pre-season tournament to identify promising young talents.
"Ohis, myself and my board members are watching the ongoing pre-season tournament so we can select some young players. After that, we will invite some experienced players to strengthen the team. I can also tell you that some of our old players are still with us," he said.
Dr. Singabele stressed that the Nigeria National League (NNL) is highly competitive, making experience a key ingredient for success.
"I know how tough the National League is. It's a very difficult league, so you need experienced players with strong hearts, especially for away matches. Don't worry, Ohis, I can assure you that Bayelsa United will have a befitting team by the end of the screening exercise."
Meanwhile, the Prosperity Boys recently strengthened their technical crew with the appointment of veteran coach Abdul Maikaba as Head Coach, while Ngozi Elechi was named Assistant Coach as the club intensifies preparations for the new Nigeria National League season.
