AFN Competitions Committee Chairman Samuel Onikeku Boosts Dynamic Athletics Meet 2026 with ₦500,000 Donation

The Chairman of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) Competitions Committee and Director of Sports at the Nigeria Customs Service, Samuel Onikeku, has boosted preparations for the highly anticipated Dynamic Athletics Meet 2026 with a generous donation of ₦500,000.

A passionate advocate for athletics and sports development in Nigeria, Onikeku has consistently demonstrated his commitment to advancing track and field through both administrative leadership and direct support for competitions and athletes.

The immediate past Technical Director of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria has remained steadfast in his efforts to promote the growth of athletics across the country. His latest gesture further underscores his unwavering dedication to the sport and to initiatives aimed at discovering and developing the next generation of Nigerian athletes.

The Dynamic Athletics Meet 2026, scheduled for 15 August at the YABATECH Sports Complex, Yaba, Lagos, received a major boost from Onikeku's generous contribution, which will support the successful staging of the competition.

Earlier this season, Onikeku also organized a major athletics competition in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, providing another platform for athletes to compete and improve. He is currently in Glasgow, Scotland, supporting Team Nigeria at the Commonwealth Games, where the nation's athletes have continued to deliver impressive performances. Even while abroad, he has extended his support to athletics development back home through this timely donation.

In recognition of his immense contributions to Nigerian athletics, Samuel Onikeku has been invited by the organizers as a Special Guest at the Dynamic Athletics Meet 2026.
