Adeleke Urges Tinubu to Intervene as Osun Guber Tensions Escalate

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene in the escalating pre-election violence in the state ahead of the governorship election.

Speaking on Monday during a campaign rally in Olorunda Local Government Area, Adeleke urged the President to help restore peace and prevent a repeat of the political violence that engulfed the South-West during the 1983 crisis.

The governor noted that the Accord Party in Osun had recently endorsed President Tinubu's re-election bid, expressing hope that the President would reciprocate by ensuring peace and stability in the state.

Adeleke stressed the need for all political actors to embrace peaceful campaigns, warning that violence has no place in a democratic society. He called on security agencies to remain impartial and protect lives and property throughout the election period.

His appeal comes amid rising political tensions and concerns over security as Osun prepares for the governorship poll.
