Twenty years after reportedly losing her father, Wing Commander E.O. Adekunle, in a Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash, Flight Lieutenant Damilola Adekunle has been confronted with another devastating tragedy involving a military aircraft.

Her father was reportedly among Nigerian Air Force officers killed when a Dornier 228 aircraft crashed in the Oko area of Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State on September 17, 2006.

In a heartbreaking twist of fate, Flight Lieutenant Damilola has now lost her husband in another military aircraft tragedy—just 16 days after their wedding, according to reports.

The tragedy means that, two decades after losing her father in an aircraft crash, Damilola is once again mourning a loved one taken from her in a similar circumstance.
